No true wine experience is complete without food and great discussion. Opimian's tasting events are the perfect venue to cultivate your palate. Our events allow new members to taste and sample Opimian wine, meet other Opimian members and learn more about the wine world from vintage Opimians. Our vintage Opimians attend to meet up with long-time friends, enjoy new Opimian wines and challenge their palette. Tasting events are organized by Opimian Area Representatives, creative individuals who love to organize memorable events for members. Every year, over 150 events are held from coast to coast to coast, designed, organized and implemented  by these intrepid volunteers.

Opimian members are welcome to attend any Opimian event across the country. If you are planning a vacation or have a business trip coming up, check back here to see if there will be an Opimian event at your destination - a night out on the town with other like-minded wine lovers will be a great way to unwind after your travels.

Fort McMurray, Alberta
Changing Format Atmosfere

Time:  6:30 pm
Price: Members & First Guest: $95.00** per person

Change is good, and perhaps it is time for a change! For many people variety is the spice of life. It might be hard to believe, but even changing the size of a wine bottle can change the wine. We are going to test this concept at Atmosfere, a new venu, where we will sample the same wine out of a normal 750 millilitre bottle and a large format Magnum. Wines drank young seldom show a difference, but in this case we will be drinking a wine that has been aging since 2006 for this very purpose. We welcome you come help inaugurate Opimian Fort McMurray’s newest special venue, but register early as seating is limited for this event. Chef Nate Cato has put together an exceptional menu that is sure to showcase Atmosfere’s culinary finesse and enthusiasm for hosting future Opimian events. We will start with “Chef’s Amuse Bouche”, and in the spirit of a week-night, this course is un-paired. Please tear yourself from your busy schedule, and help us inaugurate Atmosfere and welcome them into the Opimian fold for a first ever week-night light dinner event on September 8th. We hope you can join us.

Fort McMurray, Alberta
The World of Pinot Noir

Time: 6:30 pm
Price: Members & First Guest: $165.00** per person

Once you go Noir you will never go back! Many in the wine world consider Pinot Noir to be the princess of grapes. It’s regal, delicate, temperamental and thin skinned. As a result it makes some spectacular wines when things work out well… and is a much maligned wine when it does not. Pinot Noir wines can be light, bright and fruity; yet others can be earthy, dark and lingering. If there is a truth about Pinot Noir, it is that it is versatile in the right hands. The world’s priciest Burgundy’s are made from it, as are some of the world’s top Champagnes. Pinot Noir done right is always a treat. We are thrilled to invite you to the Sawridge Inn on September 19th to enjoy a tour of “The World of Pinot Noir” and the exceptional food it inspires. We hope you can join us at the Sawridge Inn for a delicious and educational tour of “The World of Pinot Noir” on September 19th. See you there.

Yes, we're bringing back the Nine! Wine! Dine! event at the prestigious Camelot Golf & Country Club on a convenient Saturday evening. Victoria, British Columbia
Wine From Down Under at the Victoria Golf Club

Time: 6:30 pm
Price: Members & First Guest: $109.00** per person

In the Fall of 2014, your Opimian Area Representatives Carole and Steve had the opportunity to meet two of our most popular Australian producers, Wines By Geoff Hardy and Hastwell & Lightfood, and preview many of the wines in their portfolio. The knowledge of their wines, the terroir and the science behind winemaking was very enlightening. We learned that many Australians don't like to cellar wine as they really like the fresh fruit that Auzzie wines are known for. We have gathered a good selection of the best of Australia in this event to be held for the first time at the Victoria Golf Club. The Chef has compiled a very interesting menu featuring Ostrich, Octopus and Beef Tenderloin! This event will be sure to sell out quickly so please reserve early.
