Expresión Reserve Chardonnay, Casablanca Valley, 2018

A deliciously restrained and multi-dimensional Chardonnay – this wine blew me away, given its price. It is mellow and complex with aromas of vanilla toast, lemon and lime. It is medium bodied and smooth with intense fruit and creamy flavours balanced with a good acidity and lingering lemon citrus finish. Eight percent of the wine was matured in barrels for nine months with regular lees stirring, 42% was put into new French oak vats for three months and the remaining 50% was kept in stainless steel tanks.
